Indian Railways plans to introduce the Vande Bharat sleeper trains this year, enhancing amenities and potentially launching a service between Secunderabad and Pune. These new trains, manufactured by Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) and the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), aim to improve long-distance travel comfort and speed. The modern amenities will include sensor-based lighting, better soundproofing, automatic doors, and small pantries in each coach, along with wheelchair-accessible sleepers, comfortable bunk beds, and advanced bathroom facilities.

The Vande Bharat trains are part of a broader initiative by Indian Railways to expand semi-high-speed train services nationwide, enhancing passenger comfort and reducing travel times. The new sleeper service on the Secunderabad-Pune route is a step towards modernizing the fleet and offering a more efficient travel option for long-distance passengers. It is expected to replace the current Shatabdi Express on this route, potentially reducing travel time by at least an hour.

Although the schedule and stops for the Secunderabad-Pune Vande Bharat sleeper train are not yet finalized, officials have assured that these details will be made public once preparations are complete. The introduction of these sleeper trains is highly anticipated and is expected to significantly improve the travel experience on this route.

Currently, five Vande Bharat trains operate successfully within the South Central Railway (SCR) jurisdiction, including routes like Vijayawada to MGR Chennai Central and Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam. With Indian Railways' plan to gradually replace the Rajdhani Express with Vande Bharat sleeper trains, the initiative marks a significant modernization effort aimed at enhancing the country's rail travel infrastructure.
