Kazakhstan, China sign over 40 business agreements

Kazakhstan Railways and CRRC have agreed to the delivery of 200 locomotives, according to the Kazinform News Agency, which cited the press service of the Samruk Kazyna National Company. This significant agreement was part of a broader set of deals, with over 40 agreements worth $3.7 billion signed by companies during the Kazakhstan-China Business Council held in Astana.

The seventh meeting of the Kazakhstan-China Business Council brought together more than 500 business representatives, including delegates from up to 50 major Chinese companies. This event underscored the deepening economic ties between Kazakhstan and China, with numerous high-profile agreements aimed at bolstering trade and investment. Notably, Kazakhstan’s national company, Samruk Kazyna, played a central role by signing 16 out of the 40 agreements.

One of the key agreements involved the investment in constructing a container hub at the Aktau port, a deal between Kazakhstan Railways and Lianyungang Port. This project aims to enhance the logistical capabilities and connectivity of Kazakhstan, providing a critical infrastructure boost to facilitate increased trade flow between Kazakhstan and China.

These agreements reflect the strategic economic partnership between the two nations, highlighting their mutual commitment to developing infrastructure and expanding business opportunities.
