On Tuesday, 26 November, key members of team will participate in various panels at the satellite-based train control and digital infrastructure event. Ms Léa Paties, the Senior Programme Manager, will join a panel from 12:30 – 13:10 CET to discuss "The future of satellite-based train control: Use cases, innovation and challenges." This session will explore the challenges of achieving interoperability in train control and communications, the advantages of integrating satellite technology into control systems, and the regulatory and technical considerations involved.

Later, from 15:40 – 16:20 CET, the Programme Manager and Seconded National Expert, Mr Karel van Gils, will participate in a discussion on "Ensuring a seamless transition to FRMCS," focusing on collaboration to overcome rollout challenges and the impact on rail safety and efficiency. Concurrently, Mr Ian Conlon, Head of System Pillar at Europe’s Rail, will join a panel on balancing digital infrastructure innovations with legacy systems, addressing the complexities of integration, system optimization, and retrofitting trade-offs.

The event continues on 27 November with the Executive Director, Mr Giorgio Travaini, participating in a panel from 10:00 – 10:30 CET on "Delivering on digital transformation in rail: Stepping up to meet customer expectations with an effective innovation strategy."

This session will focus on strategies to drive digital transformation in rail to meet customer demands. Finally, from 12:30 – 13:10 CET, the Senior Programme Manager, Javier Ibáñez de Yrigoyen, will take part in a discussion on "How can digital transformation help freight rail attract market share?" This panel will examine the necessary steps to increase freight rail's market share and its competition with road and aviation.
