Siemens Mobility has achieved a significant milestone by being awarded a gold disc for its outstanding partnership with Rail Safe Friendly, a social impact initiative dedicated to enhancing rail safety and mitigating trespass incidents. This gold partnership acknowledges Siemens Mobility's extensive efforts to engage with 150 schools across the UK, with 53 schools already participating. The initiative leverages content from Network Rail's Switched On Rail Safety website to foster rail safety awareness among young people.

The core objective of the Rail Safe Friendly programme is to create a collaborative platform for schools and the rail industry to improve safety education. Siemens Mobility's commitment to this cause aligns with its proximity to various sites, projects, and offices, enabling the company to directly support local schools. The programme emphasizes teaching pupils how to stay safe around railway tracks, a crucial aspect of preventing tragic accidents.

Rob Morris, Joint CEO of Siemens Mobility UK & Ireland, underscored the importance of maintaining a relentless focus on rail safety within the industry. He expressed pride in the positive impact of the partnership, noting the excellent engagement from schools nationwide. Morris highlighted the ongoing efforts to expand this initiative, aiming to consign tragic rail accidents involving young people to history through continuous education on the dangers posed by the rail network.

Stuart Heaton, Managing Director of Rail Safe Friendly and Learn Live, praised the collaboration with Siemens Mobility for its role in extending vital rail safety awareness to more children. He emphasized the programme's mission to educate children and young people about the inherent dangers of the railway, thereby saving lives and preventing injuries. Since the partnership's inception in February, the programme has reached 53 schools and aims to engage with an additional 100 in the coming months, tailoring sessions to all school ages with a focus on personal and public safety around railways.
