The partnership between Škoda Group and RegioJet, the largest private railway carrier in Central Europe, will result in the delivery of 23 new electric units, valued at approximately EUR 133 million. This fleet will comprise 15 two-car trains and 8 three-car trains, customized to meet RegioJet's specific needs. Škoda's electric trains, already popular in the Czech Republic for regional transport, will bring renowned comfort to the Ústí nad Labem Region by the end of 2026. This ambitious project aims to cover 3.3 million kilometers annually over 15 years, significantly enhancing service quality and capacity.

The new low-floor units, designed for suburban and regional lines, will be capable of speeds up to 160 km/h. The two-car units will be 53 meters long with 142 seats, while the three-car units will be 80 meters long with 228 seats, including a first-class compartment. These specifications reflect a focus on both capacity and passenger comfort, aligning with RegioJet's commitment to high service standards.

Radim Jančura, owner of RegioJet, expressed pride in this historic investment, which is set to significantly expand the carrier’s capacity and elevate the standards of comfort, safety, and environmental sustainability. He highlighted that the company plans to invest over CZK 4.5 billion in their fleet over the next two years. Jan Švehla, Head of Group Communications at Škoda Group, emphasized the popularity of their trains and their adaptation to meet the needs of RegioJet and the Ústí nad Labem Region, underscoring the importance of this purchase for the growth of environmentally friendly rail transport.

The electric units are designed with passenger comfort as a priority, featuring fully air-conditioned interiors, Wi-Fi, 230 V power sockets, USB sockets, barrier-free entrances and interiors, ergonomic seats, and spacious storage areas for bicycles and prams. They also include advanced safety features and cutting-edge technology, such as ETCS equipment, to comply with the latest industry standards. Each train will have a spacious toilet for passengers with reduced mobility, with the three-car units additionally featuring one standard toilet, ensuring a high level of accessibility and convenience for all passengers.
