Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL), a leading Indian rolling stock manufacturer, has begun producing trainsets for the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited's (BMRCL) Phase 2 Yellow Line project. This production is part of a contract with China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC), marking a significant milestone in Titagarh’s contribution to India's urban transportation infrastructure. The contract, initially signed in December 2019, faced challenges and delays, prompting CRRC to seek additional time and collaborate with Titagarh through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Under the MoU, Titagarh will manufacture 34 of the 36 trainsets required for the Yellow Line at its advanced facility in Uttarpara, while only two trainsets, consisting of 12 coaches, will be produced in China. To accommodate this project, Titagarh has established a specialized stainless steel production line. Production began on May 18, 2024, with the first trainset scheduled for delivery in August 2024. This project highlights Titagarh's capability to meet specific requirements and deliver high-quality trainsets within tight deadlines.

The 21-km Yellow Line, stretching from RV Road to Bommasandra, is a vital metro corridor aimed at improving connectivity and reducing traffic congestion in Bengaluru. Once completed, this line will significantly enhance urban mobility for the city's residents. Titagarh’s involvement in this project underscores its commitment to supporting national infrastructure initiatives with reliable transportation solutions.

Titagarh's extensive manufacturing capabilities enable it to cater to a diverse range of transportation needs, reinforcing its leadership in the rail transportation industry. The company's continuous investment in advanced production technologies and dedication to quality and innovation are key drivers of its success and contribution to national infrastructure projects.
